African Pride Melrose Arch Hotel’s Executive Chef Hanroe Erasmus understands the good life and the cuisine that goes with it. He has spent most of his working life in 5-star hotels and restaurants, creating dishes that are culinary works of art.
Hanroe has for the past three years overseen 5 food outlets in the hotel, including the newly re-opened 80-seater sophisticated dining restaurant March.
He qualified as a chef in 2005, and immediately found his dream job at the exclusive Kuname River Lodge just a short drive away from Tzaneen.
In 2009 he relocated to Johannesburg where he became Executive Chef at St Andrew’s Boutique Hotel with its 80-seater fine dining restaurant Trents, then he moved on to become Executive Chef of moyo Fountains Valley in Pretoria, before taking over the kitchens of African Pride Melrose Arch Hotel.
Hanroe has demonstrated his culinary mastery through the creation of such dishes as Kudu Wellington (last year’s dish of Taste of Joburg) and ‘bengali spiced free-range duck livers with exotic mushrooms and madeira sauce.”
