#WenchyClean9 #ForeverLiving Detox

Dear friends and other interesting creatures,

You see, in life, lots of people know what to do, but few people actually do what they know. ~ Tony Robbins

I have always been a believer as you set out to loose weight that you simply eat less and exercise more – drink plenty of water. That worked for me before just dandy.

I have been introduced to #ForeverLiving by an old friend, @_Denise_Cross_ We connected after many years at a @MommyMatters networking breakfast.

Since being diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, I have gone the traditional specialist physician route, countless tests and many different medications over the past two years – pain relief drugs, YES, but it has also helped me gain 30kg.

One specialist even asked me if I would rather be heavier with less pain, or if I want to be pretty!! He must have confused my inner Goddess with a Sumo Wrestler!

All the weight I had lost to do the Whale Trail was back, all that hard work…gone. I admit it does kick my ass to have many clothes I can’t wear!

I have been using #ForeverLiving Aloe Heat lotion for pain, especially in my neck and between my shoulder blades and it really has helped me, so I was quite open to experimenting with more #ForeverLiving products.

So, starting today, I am doing the #WenchyClean9 detox which lasts for 9 days. First two days involves #ForeverLiving products but no actual food! I am both nervous and excited.

Watch this space.

I wish you enough,

Periodo Azul

Dear friends and other interesting creatures,

Many years ago, I saw Greig Coetzee perform in a one-man play: “Die Blou Period Van Milton Van Der Spuy.”

Fractured story lines, jumping from present to past, and making surprisingly great use of a simplistic character on the surface, but great depth in soul…. “…but mother says, my talents lie elsewhere.”

Not sure why Milton is on my mind tonight… Perhaps because of the fractured lines in my soul, jumping from past to present…needs, wants, desires – but then, simplistic has never been a word that describes me.

I wish you enough,

Good morning friends and other interesting creatures,

Mommy Matters is an online parenting and lifestyle magazine that aim to support you in your child’s development, your business – as well as your own personal development.

I was hosted at the last networking breakfast held in Johannesburg and truly had a wonderful morning. @WoolworthsS_SA sponsored a glorious breakfast and we were introduced to the “Littleworld of rewards” programme. Do go and read how this can be beneficial to you as a mom, granny, or aunt. 🙂

I met an entirely new base of networking Moms who like me is trying to have it all –  the man, the children, my own business. The breakfast includes a speaker and I was amazed and grateful when I could relate to so much of what our speaker said. We also received an awesome goody-bag to take home, as well as a chance to win some amazing lucky-draw prizes on the spot. Yes, I won a spot prize at my first breakfast. Yes, it was from the sex therapists. Yes, Mom‘s like and have sex too.

Every Mompreneurs gets a turn to showcase her business in sharing what her business entails and how we can help each other by networking, word of mouth and hearty discussions around many topics, not just business! I would highly recommend a morning networking breakfast if you are a Mompreneurs.

Mommy Matters has kindly offered me the opportunity to give away a spot at the year end function:

Wednesday 13 November 2013, 09h30 – 12h00
GreenGenes Wellness Centre, 39 St Albans Avenue, Craighall Park

I would love for you to join me on Wednesday.

Leave your name and blog address in the comment box of this blog (top, right hand corner) and I will do the draw later today.

I wish you enough,

Thor: The Dark World @numetro @mnetmovies #MyMovieReview

Dear friends and other interesting creatures –

What a thrill – the preview of Thor – The Dark World. Big thanks to @numetro @mnetmovies!

As far as sequels go, this was everything it should be, a movie to equal the first. The entire cast reprising in their original roles. For me movies should offer pure escapism or raw cry me a river type. This movie delivered in spades. It took me on a great escape to other realms. The fantastic sound and special FX are worthy of mention, pure 3D wizardry at its finest.

Chris Hemsworth and Natalie Portman are both as easy on the eye as ever. Stellan Skarsgård plays a brilliant seemingly crazed scientist. Who would have thought and older man in his “tighty whities” could be funny? 🙂

The movie tells an epic tale, of Odin and the realm of Asgard, seeking to defeat an encroaching and very powerful dark force. A dark race called Dark Elves have sought for thousands year to vanquish all the realms of the universe. An alignment of the realms of the universe lends them favour for the first time in five thousand years. Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) is the Dark Elves unwitting ally. Thor (Chris Hemsworth) is the universes only possible salvation, and also in love with Jane.

There was great action and a return to romance. Can the God of Thunder get the girl when she is resident in a realm that is not his?

I hugely appreciated a humorous nod to another Marvel Superhero great. No movie of this stature should be without a delicious plot twist. I loved this one. It makes me hopeful for a trilogy.

This movie is well worth watching – all girls like a hero!

I wish you enough,

…Oh yes you can! #AladdinPanto at @joburgtheatre

…and with magic in the air & glitter everywhere, #AladdinPanto weekend has arrived!

Good morning friends and other interesting creatures,

I have been holding back on writing this blog as I experienced such intense personal fulfilment, I almost wanted to keep it to myself. A pearl of wisdom and inner wonder.

I have recently awoken to some personal flaws within myself and my interaction (and reaction) to the world. While holding onto the essence that is me, operating in a world without conforming, but respectfully visiting within the spaces and places I find myself – this revelation has added a calm balm to my soul.

Change has intensified my enjoyment of situations, people and places. A behavioural shift, a different approach and ridding myself of a coping mechanism, is a work in process as you can imagine.

When I joined the #newmedia team on invitation for #AladdinPanto at @joburgtheatre I was excited and thrilled. It is a great honour for me to able to see behind the scenes, getting to know the cast as their character and their person. It ignites my soul to be privy to what to them may be just another dat “at the office”

I love the rolling red carpet steps as you walk up to The Mandela Theatre. It hold such regal promise. The intimacy of The Fringe – all holds its own addiction. If you revel in the little things, @joburgtheatre is an experience and not merely a venue. The productions are works of art, down to the finest detail.

In the midst of focussing on my own positive change, being invited to lunch with the creative genius that is Janice Honeyman and the ever charming Bernard Jay who holds your attention with a flicker of mischievous laughter in his eye, is never to be turned down.

1-30 October 2013

Lunch was held in the formal, Manhattan with exquisite food. It is always such a treat! The cheese cake was melt in your mouth delicious…

I prepared a few questions before, but it seems @Jodenecoza and I are very much on the same wave length as our questions were almost extensions of the other. 🙂 Janice and Bernard is very clearly individuals who have happily worked together over many years.

They have a friendship and excitement within them, that lights up a room. I was blessed to witness such a display of deep friendship with respect, an appreciation for each other.

Janice and Bernard took us subtly through the worldly traditions of Pantomimes, the history, the sets, wardrobe, the casting of main characters almost two year in advance of the next Panto, the script writing and music (@_RoelofColyn – can this get any better!?

All the nuts and bolts that it takes to create this wonder which has become part of Christmas tradition for so many of us was assembled as we listened and build it in our minds eye. Our goodbyes was relaxed and happy….filled with excitement as #AladdinPanto rolls out its magic carpet to all who visit the Genie in the lamp.

The cast and crew are talented and sure about their skill set. Seeing the preparations I have to think “Wow!” – yet each December my loud “Wow!” becomes even bigger.

#AladdinPanto has the handsome Prince, the gorgeous Princess, an Emperor, a shady Villain, a Genie that grants wishes – all in perfect harmony in song, hysterically funny laughter, written by Janice who again brings amazing dialogue, sing songs and humour for all ages!

Visit @joburgtheatre Tickets: 086 167 0670 | http://www.joburgtheatre.com for more info on #AladdinPanto but more importantly to start this Christmas tradition with your family.

I wish you song, dance, magic, glitter and laughter….oh and slush in the foyer!!
