What a thrill – the preview of Thor – The Dark World. Big thanks to @numetro @mnetmovies!
As far as sequels go, this was everything it should be, a movie to equal the first. The entire cast reprising in their original roles. For me movies should offer pure escapism or raw cry me a river type. This movie delivered in spades. It took me on a great escape to other realms. The fantastic sound and special FX are worthy of mention, pure 3D wizardry at its finest.
Chris Hemsworth and Natalie Portman are both as easy on the eye as ever. Stellan Skarsgård plays a brilliant seemingly crazed scientist. Who would have thought and older man in his “tighty whities” could be funny? 🙂
The movie tells an epic tale, of Odin and the realm of Asgard, seeking to defeat an encroaching and very powerful dark force. A dark race called Dark Elves have sought for thousands year to vanquish all the realms of the universe. An alignment of the realms of the universe lends them favour for the first time in five thousand years. Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) is the Dark Elves unwitting ally. Thor (Chris Hemsworth) is the universes only possible salvation, and also in love with Jane.
There was great action and a return to romance. Can the God of Thunder get the girl when she is resident in a realm that is not his?
I hugely appreciated a humorous nod to another Marvel Superhero great. No movie of this stature should be without a delicious plot twist. I loved this one. It makes me hopeful for a trilogy.
This movie is well worth watching – all girls like a hero!
