African Hips Don't Lie

The ANC of my youth.

Yes. I am one of those white people. I’ve been called a kaffer-boetie more times in my life than my age. I chanted in the street for freedom from white oppression, segregation and demanding that power be given to our people. All our people. My vote did help put the ANC into power along with millions of others.

However between President Zuma and Julius Malema, this is not the ANC of my youth. This is not what I ran from police for. I do not believe Madiba sat in jail for 27 years to see the colour fade from this rainbow nation of corruption.

These men have belittled my belief in a conviction I have held up as my truth. Colour will never dictate superiority to me – ever. To thy own self be true… I will not be voting for the ANC this time round Comrades. Free and fair.

Viva!! the spirit of Nelson Mandela who I do not believe would have cast his vote for this rendition of the African National Congress. I do believe he would have been disappointed in the watered down version of power to our people. Mostly disappointed in our leadership and what they stand for.

I know I am.

We miss our leader Tata.

Nkosi Sikelel’ iAfrika  – God bless Africa.

  1. So glad your views on who to vote for have changed

The present government/ruling party is corrupt and the reverse apartheid in place is destroying this awesome country of ours
