Dear friends and other interesting creatures,
@SirNoid and I did our first movie screening this year being treated to a viewing of the action and adventure movie “Tracers” from the director Daniel Benmayor.
You can view the official trailer : HERE
Think New York City – noise, alive with people, sounds and sights.
Bike messenger Cam (Taylor Lautner from the “The Twilight Saga”) crashes his bike into the gorgeous Nikki (Marie Avgeropoulos from the sci-fi series “The 100”) and is at once infatuated by her being well, gorgeous and has moves that you remind you of CatWoman, but on a smaller scale. Cam crashing into Nikki does not make him the world best bike rider however. #justsaying
Turns out Cam is in debt to the mafia, although I never quite figured out why …. and his attraction to Nikki’s opens Cam to the thrill of the world of a gang who pull off heists using parkour. Hoping to pay off his debt, Cam gets very involved with the gang who keeps digging deeper and jumping higher.
The movie has a PG13 rating and I would say the target audience is between 16 and 21. I found it light entertainment, an escape from reality … but the stunts were not all that impressive. The girl in me loved the ending and I did enjoy seeing Taylor Lautner is something other than Twighlight.
Wikipedia tells us that Parkour is a holistic training discipline using movement that developed from military obstacle course training. Practitioners aim to get from A to B in the most efficient way possible. This is done using only the human body and the surroundings for propulsion, with a focus on maintaining as much momentum as possible while still remaining safe.
I wish you enough and remember, you can never read enough books or see too many movies!
