#DONTLabelMe

Dear friends and other interesting creatures,

My bipolar diagnosis is not a label, it is but a heading for my mental health treatment plan.

People may be curious about your symptoms. Use the opportunity to educate your family and friends about mental health. Open the dialogue so that they understand that it is okay not to feel okay all the time.

I am diagnosed as having Bipolar Disorder. I am not Bipolar. I do not need a label.

The T-shirt I’m wearing is from a limited-edition range that encourages the conversation around mental challenges and is on sale : HERE

The profits of the T-shirt sales will be donated to SADAG.

I wish you enough,

Wenchy

Mango Groove Celebrates 30th Anniversary!

Dear friends and other interesting creatures,

I attended my very first music concert at Ellis Park at the age of 14. I wore a tiny black mini skirt with a Mickey Mouse T-shirt. (Even I wasn’t always the size of a small African country. 😉) Claire Johnston was the drawing card for me besides the rhythm of the music.

I am thrilled to be joining many in celebration of their 30th Anniversary!

🎶 Book now! 🎶

Mango Groove along with Real Concerts will be celebrating their 30th Anniversary in “Special Star” style at the Teatro at Monte Casino on Friday 8 March 2018.

Tickets range from R300 and is now available from Computicket.

I wish you enough,

Wenchy

Some of my best work

Dear friends and other interesting creatures,

I seem to have loved you in numberless forms, numberless times, in life after life, in age after age forever.
– Rabindranath Tagore

My children are some of my favourite people in the world. Not because I made them my own self 😉, but because they are tremendously, independently awesome in their own right.

They fascinate me as individuals. The characteristics that seperate them. The timeless bond that keeps them connected to me and to each other.

I wish you enough,

Wenchy

The boy with the blue eyes looked up smiling.

Dear friends and other interesting creatures,

I woke up and heard a commotion downstairs. At first, I couldn’t make out what was going on. I could hear @SirNoid speaking to someone. It sounded happy so early in the morning. I got out of bed and walked to the landing for a peep.

I looked down and saw @SirNoid hugging a young man, with lines shaved into his light hair.

I felt my breath completely disappear and I heard myself saying “Liam”. I wasn’t sure if the whispers were actually escaping my body. Continue reading “The boy with the blue eyes looked up smiling.”

Unicorn Rainbow Melt

Dear friends and other interesting creatures,

I popped into Cafe Patisse Greenside today to check out the unicorn rainbow melt advertised on their Facebook page, and it is so cute! Made me wish I had a small person to impress.

There was a table with many little people with their mom and dad sitting behind me. I heard this small voice declare it the best taste he “has ever has”.

Then the kids (all under seven I think) started taking pictures of their food. I did compliment the parents on starting them young.

I had a favourite of mine, the carrot cake that I have Instagrammed often. It tastes really awesome besides making a pretty picture!

Pop in!

I wish you enough,

Wenchy
