#ElvisShow is in the @joburgtheatre building!

Hello my friends and other interesting creatures –

I was indeed blessed to be invited to see #ElvisShow at Joburg Theatre last night. The event included celebrities such as Steve Hofmeyr and his fiancé Janine as well as Kurt Darren wife Dunay amongst others. An amazing atmosphere!

I had such a good time! All shook up – reliving songs that I love, singing, laughing and remembering my teenage years where Elvis was all over my walls. 🙂

I suggest you make use of the specials on offer and just relax….. SING and enjoy!

…Oh yes you can! #AladdinPanto at @joburgtheatre

…and with magic in the air & glitter everywhere, #AladdinPanto weekend has arrived!

Good morning friends and other interesting creatures,

I have been holding back on writing this blog as I experienced such intense personal fulfilment, I almost wanted to keep it to myself. A pearl of wisdom and inner wonder.

I have recently awoken to some personal flaws within myself and my interaction (and reaction) to the world. While holding onto the essence that is me, operating in a world without conforming, but respectfully visiting within the spaces and places I find myself – this revelation has added a calm balm to my soul.

Change has intensified my enjoyment of situations, people and places. A behavioural shift, a different approach and ridding myself of a coping mechanism, is a work in process as you can imagine.

When I joined the #newmedia team on invitation for #AladdinPanto at @joburgtheatre I was excited and thrilled. It is a great honour for me to able to see behind the scenes, getting to know the cast as their character and their person. It ignites my soul to be privy to what to them may be just another dat “at the office”

I love the rolling red carpet steps as you walk up to The Mandela Theatre. It hold such regal promise. The intimacy of The Fringe – all holds its own addiction. If you revel in the little things, @joburgtheatre is an experience and not merely a venue. The productions are works of art, down to the finest detail.

In the midst of focussing on my own positive change, being invited to lunch with the creative genius that is Janice Honeyman and the ever charming Bernard Jay who holds your attention with a flicker of mischievous laughter in his eye, is never to be turned down.

1-30 October 2013

Lunch was held in the formal, Manhattan with exquisite food. It is always such a treat! The cheese cake was melt in your mouth delicious…

I prepared a few questions before, but it seems @Jodenecoza and I are very much on the same wave length as our questions were almost extensions of the other. 🙂 Janice and Bernard is very clearly individuals who have happily worked together over many years.

They have a friendship and excitement within them, that lights up a room. I was blessed to witness such a display of deep friendship with respect, an appreciation for each other.

Janice and Bernard took us subtly through the worldly traditions of Pantomimes, the history, the sets, wardrobe, the casting of main characters almost two year in advance of the next Panto, the script writing and music (@_RoelofColyn – can this get any better!?

All the nuts and bolts that it takes to create this wonder which has become part of Christmas tradition for so many of us was assembled as we listened and build it in our minds eye. Our goodbyes was relaxed and happy….filled with excitement as #AladdinPanto rolls out its magic carpet to all who visit the Genie in the lamp.

The cast and crew are talented and sure about their skill set. Seeing the preparations I have to think “Wow!” – yet each December my loud “Wow!” becomes even bigger.

#AladdinPanto has the handsome Prince, the gorgeous Princess, an Emperor, a shady Villain, a Genie that grants wishes – all in perfect harmony in song, hysterically funny laughter, written by Janice who again brings amazing dialogue, sing songs and humour for all ages!

Visit @joburgtheatre Tickets: 086 167 0670 | http://www.joburgtheatre.com for more info on #AladdinPanto but more importantly to start this Christmas tradition with your family.

I wish you song, dance, magic, glitter and laughter….oh and slush in the foyer!!

PS. Forgive errors! I typed this at 2am and scheduled it to run at 8am. LOL

…and then life whistled at me. @Lifeology #StarlightExpressSA

An old friend, Fi ( @figs_home ) wanted to introduce me to a friend of hers for years now. She often mentioned that we would really like each other. For some reason it just never happened….. until I replied to a tweet regarding the @Joburgtheatre and Jodene @Jodenecoza ) responded. We instantly clicked!

I have had two professional role models in my life Jyoti Moti who worked very closely with me at AForbes, a kick ass perfectionist successful consultant, and my x brother-in-law, Kevin Trudgeon who is one of the top Tax Lawyers in the country…. and here I literally clicked onto the third that would take me to a place where I knew for sure, THIS is what I wanted to be when I grow up.  Jodene Shaer of @LifeologySA .

Jodene invited to an event or two, @NocturnalWenchy was alive and well, tapped into her resources and for once I was allowed to be on my phone all I like! Small part of heaven. Even @SirNoid and @ZippyFairy helped tweet. Thank you. I appreciate the support endlessly!

I had been wanting to get more involved in Social Media. I wanted to analyse, manage accounts, review, visit events, wear glitter, write and dabble in photography, walk in soft lighting – so ….when @LifeologySA presented me with an opportunity to freelance, I grabbed it with both hands, holding a phone in one, a camera around my neck and a Galaxy pad in the other! (… and currently begging @SirNoid for his old one when he upgrades as I need more “hands”.)

Jodene & Wenchy

I am beyond grateful for the opportunity, and the beautiful people I have met, the twitter followers who keep on coming and share my excitement and the Face Book friends who are so supportive and always encouraging my growth as a person, especially my BFF, Wil, Charms and Vicky, I love you… and my Mammie and my two sisters, Mary-Ann and Rentia. Also, a huge thank you to the small business accounts I am assisting with Face Book and Twitter. You mean so much to me. THANK YOU!

HUGE thank you to @SirNoid who is getting use to me not being at home every single night and my greatest thanks goes to @Jodeansa and @ohgodknows for taking a chance on me. (Abba playing in your head yet….?)

The greatest experience in these few short months has been getting more involved with @Joburgtheatre and the amazing non replica production of #StarlightExpressSA.  I have followed the journey from the first reading, to watching the TV advert being filmed to rehearsals and technical rehearsals and having loved theatre before…. I am now safely in love with the red curtain, the glitter and the truth that music speaks to your soul.

In my personal experience you have to see #StarlightExpressSA as the MEGA musical ever to come to the South African stage because as a regular theatre lover, I have never seen anything like it. The performers are in top form – singing, dancing, performing – all on rollerskates, the music is Andrew Lloyd Webber, need I say more? The two performers that I really connected with is Weslee (Dustinsee my previous interview with him, https://twitter.com/WesleeLauder ) and Bongi (Poppa https://twitter.com/Bongi_Mthombeni ). That man has a velvet, unbelievable voice and has been my Mammie’s BBM picture since yesterday!

There’s a light at the end of the tunnel…. (the music never stops!)

I wish you enough,

Wenchy
